On 1 December 2019.new laws to improve swimming pool and spa safety occurred in Victoria. They introduce new registration, inspection and certification requirements for property owners.
As part of the changes, owners are required to register their pool and spa with their local council and have their safety barrier inspected once every four years.
If a Victorian residential pool or spa has a depth of 30cm or more (300mm), it is required to be surrounded by a safety barrier. This includes inflatable pools.

Pool fencing laws apply to this pool. Consult your Local Government Authority for fencing requirements.
